Damir Gamulin is a designer and researcher trained at the School of Design, Faculty of Architecture, University of Zagreb. His work approaches design as a form of modelling: constructing spatial arrangements, editorial structures, and tools that enable orientation and decision-making in heterogeneous material. This approach is grounded in the development of complex design methods that extend design practice into research, integrating multiple disciplines and scales through both design and non-design tools.
He is the co-founder of OO (Organizirano oblikovanje; with Antun Sevšek), a practice that operates between commissioned work and research-led projects. Their current research includes Magistrala, a long-term investigation of the Adriatic Highway infrastructure developed through linear mapping methods and a custom digital tool (Linear Mapper) for sequencing, annotating, and comparing spatial datasets. He designs and exhibits internationally, including at the Venice Architecture Biennale, Taipei Biennial, the Milan Triennial, and Kunsthalle Baden-Baden. He has received multiple national and international awards and recognitions.
